The February general meeting was held on February 10, 2026.  We selected Celita Cherry to replace Troncoso.

Patton was not present.

Agenda Item 9.01: Effective Governance

The board will be meeting tomorrow night (February 11, 2026) to have our first goal-monitoring session.  This one will be a learning session; going forward, we'll be rolling these into the main meetings.

Agenda Item 9.02: District A Vacancy

Remember, Troncoso resigned in December, and we had two applicants for her seat in District A.  Last week, we hosted a town-hall-style public interview with them: Joseph Lewis, a former CSD educator; and Celita Cherry, a product of CSD and a community advocate.

This appointment is for just under five months, ending on June 30.  At the election in May, the seat will be up for election for a 3-year term.

I think that both candidates would be fine additions to the board.  I personally thought that Lewis interviewed better, has a stronger education background, and brings representation for the Deaf community, so I made the motion to appoint him.

Motion: Appoint Joseph Lewis to the board (defeated)

Yes: Manley, Trauth

No: Ingram, Lou, Moriak

Motion: Appoint Celita Cherry to the board (carried)

Yes: Ingram, Lou, Manley, Moriak

Abstain: Trauth

Cherry will be sworn in tomorrow at the board workshop.
